Hi, I’m Lee, the crazy behind This Cracked Teacup.
Let me tell you a little about me.
My husband and I have been together since we were 16. Our 27th/18th anniversary recently passed. Why the two anniversaries you ask? We got married on our 9th anniversary and I feel like those first 9 years should count dammit! So every year we celebrate our full and married anniversary. And by celebrate I mean he waits to see how long it takes for me to realize it’s today.
We have two beautiful girls, Sunny, 10 and Tempest, 14. And yes, the nicknames are totally accurate. We also have four rambunctious pups: Leia, Colby, Maggie, and Gizmo. And because once you pop, you just can’t stop, we have four spastic cats: Rex, Axle, Link, and Lilith. And yes, she was aptly named after a demon.
I have about a bazillion health issues like Elhers-Danlos and Mast Cell Activation Syndrome, which like to make daily life a bit of an obstacle course. One day I can be too tired to even eat and the next, I can pick my girls up from school and still have enough energy left to play cards with them. It’s a fun game of “what will tomorrow bring?”
In addition to the physical breakdown, my girls and I are neurodivergent. I also have additional mental health diagnoses sprinkled in such as my MDD (major depressive disorder) and GAD (general anxiety disorder) but our shared theme is ADHD, combined type.

Why I Started This Cracked Teacup
For a very long time, I searched the internet for someone whose life actually looked like mine: a severely chronically ill, neurospicy mom trying to raise neurospicy kids. But I couldn’t find her. I found a few chronically ill mothers, but they were still managing full-on art projects, science experiments, and hand-making everything from scratch. Yeah… that’s not an option in this house. Or I found severely ill creators, but they didn’t have kids.
So, I decided to build the space myself.
This Cracked Teacup is a sanctuary for:
- The Imperfect Moms: For the ones who aren’t perfect but trying their absolute best anyway.
- The Unmaskers: For those traversing their own neurospicy identity journeys who want to learn from real, unfiltered experiences.
- The Answer-Seekers: For anyone traversing the mostly useless medical field in hopes of actual answers that just want to know they aren’t alone.
If hearing from an often emotionally unstable mom who spends more time with doctors than her own family, possesses a completely unreliable body, and has a heavy tendency to cuss sounds like your vibe, then you are in the right place. Welcome! Pull up a chair — though be careful, it’s probably covered in fur.
